Biografía
Native of Cadiz at heart and soul, Felipe Campuzano has become one of the most important musical figures in our contemporary history. Born in 1945 in the heart of a family of musicians, feels the clear inclination for all types of musical forms as a child. Over the years, the piano is the instrument that appeals him the most.
Then he begins to study music theory and a career in piano at the Cadiz Conservatory. Then, in Madrid, he completes his studies in piano and composition, winning the national award “End of Career,” which opens the doors of “Musical Youths”
His is also holder of several wards including the first piano prize in the Manuel de Falla competition in Cádiz, the International Art Prize “Golden Sagittarius” by the Santa Cecilia Academy of Rome, and the First interpretation prize at the 1980 London Festival.
He has performed in concerts through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ Culture Delegation, offering recitals in Universities of USA, The Arabian Emirates and central Europe. In this new stage, Campuzano has returned to the piano looking for newer musical forms to lift Andalucía from the typical and topical lethargy that has served to present it as an obsolete product and made it sickly sweet and banal beyond our borders.
With these spiritual creations of Andalucía, Felipe Campuzano wants to erase his part of the topical and typical image, that by need, as we mentioned earlier, he promoted during a few years while attempting to go over the octaves of his eternal dreams, to the building legacy of a popular and spiritual culture of the Andalucía that today he magnifies through his piano, his instrument for social communication
